Generations on Line is committed to protecting and ensuring the privacy of people using the Generations on Line web-based software. The following describes the steps we take to carry out this commitment.
Generations on Line (GoL) software does not collect, store, or dispense individually identifiable information about its users.
For institutions using our programs with their populations, the registration form requires facilities to provide contact information, allowing GoL to send administrators updates. The IP address of a facility’s computer(s) is used for verification and diagnostic purposes.
Generations on Line does not sell, rent, or share individual user information. We may collect aggregated data to monitor usage and improve our program.
To use the Generations on Line software, an institution must qualify as a setting where older people live or congregate. An administrator must complete the registration form with contact information, which is used for program-related communications and support.
In the PC edition, postings in “Memories: Generation to Generation” are monitored to prevent abuse. Inappropriate posts may result in user bans. Users are advised to use caution when disclosing personal information, as these posts are public.
The Generations on Line program contains links to other sites. GoL is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.
We may occasionally request information from users via surveys to monitor or improve the program. Participation in these surveys is voluntary.
The GoL software has password-protected security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information.
